Mira was in the small hydroponics bay on this ship drawing a little flower someone was growing. It was aesthetically pleasing and so she thought it would be a nice addition to one of her stories even if just for an in between image. The girl hummed a tune as she drew with her stylus into her tablet while knelt down over the flower.

NIk walked in, forcing the days event from his mind.  Bridge duty wasn't hard but could be mentally draining. Which sounded weird even in his own mind, but that was how he felt. He spotted someone across the small room and walked over. "Nice technique Captain Lowin."

 

As she was drawing she wasn't observing her surroundings and didn't seem to realize someone was standing next to her or for that matter watching her draw. She yelped "Eeehhhhppppp" She quickly turned around dismissing what she was doing turning off her tablet having it behind her back blushing looking worried. She chuckled lightly. "What... Um... I wasn't doing anything bad honest..." She said so used to drawing lewd things that this was her automatic reaction to someone watching her draw.  Her eyes were nearly closed as she looked at him with this still nearly worried blushing expression then she realized she wasn't doing anything wrong. her face lit up and her eyes opened and she chuckled. "Totally ignore that... Thank you for the compliment..." She rubbed her head thinking she just made a fool of herself chuckling nervously feeling awkward and then did a half bow.(edited)

 

"My apologies, I tend to walk quietly. If I startled you, I am sorry." NIk said. He was courteous enough to not want to push it but he also was genuinely curious. "You are allowed to draw what you want." he offered.

 

Mira observed him noticing he was fine and came up from her bow. "I should have been paying attention... If you know what I do as a side job you'd probably change that opinion." She said. She then changed the topic. "I am still not used to everyone calling me by my rank or last name; so formal... corporate only ever did that in official communications... Guess that's the difference between PMCs after training and the military. Well... at least when your doing surveying... I'm sur the actual security side is probably more military-like... but us; only time we had to shoot a gun or cover our ass is when we get shot at or crash..." She looked thoughtful for a moment then stopped talking.

 

"Okay. I'm Nik. You're Mira. But since you opened the door on the subject twice, that hints you want me to ask. Since I am nearly 90 years old and a Doctor, not much is going to shock me."

"9-- 90...  wow... um... and most people usually disown me when I tell them so  if you really want to know... otherwise... we can talk about something else..." She looked away for a second as she pulled her tablet up out of view doing something on it then handed it over to him blushing. She waited for him to look at it. if he looked he saw four images in a folder; one was of two girls kissing, one was of a boy and a girl kissing, one was of a boy and a girl having graphic sex in the background of a dorm room in a college dorm and the last was a girl pressing a girl against a wall and kissing him as she kissed him seemingly expressing her feelings to him for the first time while they were outside. All of these were drawn by her.  She had looked away from him and was blushing as she had the tablet extended for him to take it. As much detail as was put into the characters seemed to be put into the detail of the backgrounds, the worlds were immersive; those hat had full backgrounds and colors drew you in. She was really good at this; obviously a professional.

"I'm still seeing good technique. Nothing wrong with bit of graphic novel, the subject is a bit one sided but I imagine that is to be expected given your history." Nik replied.

"I am also part of the medical staff. Your file is safe." He added.(edited)

 

She pulled the tablet back to herself blushing still. She turned it off putting it in her small bag on her back. She was still blushing; acceptance from someone in the real world; who didn't even know her... of her basically darkest secret... Most people shunned her even online knowing she was an erotic web comic and manga artist... then again most people also assumed she was a guy. "History... What..." She tilts her head at him. did he go look up her file or something.

 

"I have an obligation to be up on personnel files so yes, your uniqueness came across my desk as it were. If fact we are somewhat alike given that I am synthetic now. Long story." Nik said.

 

"... Isn't that kinda... like... a violation of privacy... I have so many nanomachines running through my blood I may as well be a machine; I'm still a girl though while having computers running through my body to keep me alive... or rather keep my body from killing me... silly little hyperactive thing it is..." She said.

 

"It's not a violation when you are the acting assistant chief Medical officer aboard." Nik explained.

 

"oh medical doctor... okay... So... then your here to make sure I'm okay..." She said assuming why he was here.

 

"Not quite. I was just admiring the scenery. company included. But as an android,  unless I delete information, it's always there." He told her.

 

“... oh... I see... I really don’t have many friends to be honest...” she blushed. The thought of friends also brought up sex to her as online she had a lot of casual things. She’d only ever given her real body to someone twice and the thought though interesting was also sort of terrifying. She looked down feeling bad that her mind went there. She felt like she should leave. Someone she just met was talking to her and she was being lusty...

 

"Are you okay?" he asked.

 

“Yeah; just stupid is all.” She replied.

 

Nik's face contorted. "Why would you say that? You have offended me or said anything I can see was harmful or even risque."

 

She blushed. “It isn’t about what I said it’s about my thoughts... I’m such a jumbled mess... the world is so new and vr; sex was so open... in reality it’s so intimidating but... I still... And I don’t even have anybody who would be willing...” she said.

 

This time Nik blushed. "I honestly hadn't considered that. Not that you aren't attractive, it's just casual sex for me....isn't usually casual. Though as an android, I suppose the parts could be more easily disinfected." NIk said, hoping she got the joke, trying to lighten the mood.

"I'm going to stop talking. It seems I am the stupid one now." Nik added, with a large grin.(edited)

 

“It wouldn’t have to be casual if you were okay with others... open relationship? I have never really had someone to confide in... well... one guy... he’s having a hard time with the real world someone I knew online but... I think you understand... as for my issues... Dr. Frederick my original doctor did say that I can have sex... the original nanomachines would just kill sperm as they see it as an invader like anything else so I could never have children... I don’t know if these new ones are that selective... plus isn’t everyone here on pills away... Why am I talking about babies now!” She blushed furiously.

"I would be pleased to be your sounding board. As for babies, I am reasonably sure that isn't possible. They vaporized my body when they created my original synthetic one." That sparked an idea in him. He noted it for future research.  "Are you saying you're attracted to me?" He asked her point blank.

 

“Y-Yes.” Mira said plainly as he asked her without saying anything else. “So both of us can’t kids anyway... okay... conversation topic ended heh... some people would immediately walk away at those words... good it doesn’t matter here and it means there’s never any worry... and... I’ve never really had anyone to hold and cuddle... can we... do that when we nap or sleep or like sit together” she asked.(edited)

 

"I'm not going to deny you that. That would be criminal." Nik offered. "Everyone deserves love and attention. Maybe take your drawings to a new level." He quipped.

 

She winked “totally now that I’m no longer stuck in a small room...”

 

"Why do I have the feeling you mean right now?" he asked.

 

She laughed. “No; I gotta finish my drawing... how about dinner tonight and... maybe that can conclude our first date if it goes well enough...” she said with a wink

 

"Fair. My quarters say 1930?" He offered.

 

She nods as she extracted her tablet returning to her work.

"I will leave you to your work then."  Nik added a low bow.

Mira arrived at Nik's quarters after she had changed and was done with her drawing. She was dressed in her summer dress. She pressed the call button carry a small box which contained a rare wine she had gotten awhile back in the past from a colony the visited. She was going ot give it as a gift.

Nik had set out a picnic area. Under some shade trees, he had laid out a blanket. Nearby was a basket with foodstuffs.  Some of it was already laid out. Fried chicken, cole slaw. and some hand rolls Nik liked for variety.  Hearing the chime he got up and walked to the door. 

As it slid open, he commented. "Welcome Mira. I do love a woman in a sundress. You look great. Come on in.

He led her to the blanket and straightened out his button down shirt and jeans. Taking the wine from her, he said "Thanks, this is quite a find."

As he opened the door she handed him the box of wine. She was not used to this type of set up but then; when was she ever used to anything. The closest thing she could remember was limited things during her childhood with her parents but even those were highly controlled in a suit of some kind. She never had this experience in her own flesh and blood like this. "I've never been able to wear this for someone in this context before and even do this... Thanks for giving me this opportunity..." She said with a smile. "I got that from a mission; that is one thing colonies could do for me on  missions; give me things; places were not too keen on the fact that I was trapped in a cell... so often places I would visit would give me gifts... the girl in the box got lots of sympathy but nobody ever wanted to see her..." She said with a chuckle.

"Well there is no accounting to taste, or lack there of. They missed out. Plain and simple." Setting the box down, he handed her a glass of wine. "I know you've been had walls surrounding you for far too long. Still there but with the mix of real and holographic, I thought it would be a nice change." A slight breeze wafted over the nearby lake. He moved his hands in a circular motion, indicating he wanted her to spin to catch it all.

She Smirked at him. "Even if it was only through VR I guess at least I got to have some experiences... though feeling some things with my own body without the delay among other things will be nice... lag can be annoying..." She chuckled. She twirled around for him in the scenery of the lake with the sunlight around her causing her blue eyes to twinkle in the light as she spun. She seemed quite happy to be having this experience. She smiled with glee from cheek to cheek as she summoned and dawned a hat to go with her summer dress and began to frolic about in the grass. She eventually laid on her front giving him a view of her back on the blanket as she looked up at him. She giggled. "I bet its not very often you have a girl rolling around in the grass showing herself off to you; do you huh..." This comment was obviously meant to come from her more pervy trash side and had obvious meanings as she teased him.(edited)

Mira nodded. "Thanks..." She rolls on to her back so he can see her front now. "I have a friend who I have sort of casual sex with who is on this ship; hes not a boyfriend ro anything; we met online.... were close but nothing serious... I'd be up for a dating thing though if you are... obviously we are doing this aren't we... So far... You've been wondeful. I mean I don't exactly have anything to compare it to but I am enjoying myself and that is what matters right." She said with a smile.

She winks at him grinning. "Don't get too frisky too early now; wouldn't want sex before dinner now..." She said in a perverted fashion; it was becoming more and more obvious how much of a perv this girl was but again that much should have been obvious for  what her part time job was; she drew and wrote sex.

She grabs some food and begins to eat as he explains.

She chuckled then after finishing she said. "Gloomy is what I do... My life story is kind of the definition of gloom..." She gives him a bite of her roll before taking a bite herself. After finishing she said. "So aside from my ship and survey missions my schooling was all online and I loved in VR; I have the ability to attach myself to computers and during certain advanced medical treatments they have to put me in a stasis pod... I guess that won't have to happen anymore though... Medical advancements... no more days in a tube... yay... So tell me more about yourself cause I mean being that girl trapped in four walls I don't have much to say... I could go into hobbies but... pictures and drawing is about all I do; you know being that creative girl..." She said as she fed him while talking.

Between bites, he said. "Okay. here is the gloomy mixed with normal stuff. Love to cook. I was good enough to be a concert pianist. I play at the lounge sometimes on the Lavie. Before coming here, I was trapped in an old man's body. Things started to fail, my wife had already passed long ago. The androids decided to make an example out of me, hoping to get others to join them. I was placed in an android body then watched as they vaporized my human body. Looking back on it, I would almost thank them."

"That is not really all that gloomy; I mean it sucks to lose your body but like in my case... if I hadn't had some psycho doctor decide it would be fun to drill a hole in my brain and shove a chip in there then implant a chip at the base of my neck and the base of my spine I would be dead... Even if it sucks there is something to be said from having machine parts in you... You seem human enough anyway so you haven't lost all of your humanity; at that point what really matters; you are alive aren't you and you are living a better life... I'm alive, my body works better... so what if they put my chips in me; I am still me." She said with a shrug.

"Pretty much, you just have had more time to come to grips with it. I've not been in this body for about 6 months. I know that now and my life is certainly better than becoming trapped in the human cocoon, so I agree. So now that you have more freedom, I assume you have a list of things to do. ( ??)

"Yeah... I have a long list of things I want to do... The good thing is I can still leave my body if I ever need to through the nanomachines so I still have the best of both worlds." She takes a moment to finish the roll and moves back to the strawberries. She   licks one and makes a lewd comment. "I bet covering me in some of these and some whipped cream would be a yummy treat..." She licked it again before taking a bite slowly teasingly.
